This was called Lynchburg Thousand Trails but was located in
Gladys, VA. Go figure :)
This was the first campground at which I arrived after dark and got to
call the "ranger" on the walkie-talkie. He finally got the garbled message,
drove up and checked me in, then pointed me toward what he thought would be
the sites I'd like best. He was almost right. I moved the next morning to
maximize the shade.

This is the view of the campground buildings from the other side of the lake. Compared to the other Thousand Trails sites, this campground was not great... but it was ok. The lake was too goose-poopy for swimming, but the pool was nice. And the laundry room was clean - but only one dryer worked.

Oh well. It was a fine place to recoup some energy after a long week of dancing. And I spent a relaxing couple of hours on a jigsaw puzzle in the well-air-conditioned "adult rec hall" that you see here.

This is a typical site at the campground - actually it's a little nicer than the one I took (more woodsy), but was further from the bathhouse, etc.
