The view of the lake from my campsite on Friday morning... which is now full of tents. Oh well.
IMGP1593.JPG
The main building: showers, rec room, indoor pool, store, etc.
IMGP1594.JPG
A rather artsy photo of the lake, doncha think?

I liked it so much I'm trying it in B&W too...
IMGP1595.JPG
See how croweded it got during the day on Friday?
IMGP1597.JPG
So I escaped by taking a long walk. With all the rain from Thursday night, there were lots of streams and little waterfalls.
IMGP1599.JPG
The light color stuff looked like a big turtle to me - or a flattened turkey.
IMGP1600.JPG
The water was so dark and still that it was hard to tell reality from reflection. Can you? Yeah, OK, the rock is easy, but if you started looking from the left edge... what about that tree trunk?
IMGP1601.JPG
Another puzzle.
IMGP1602.JPG
As I walked nearer this pond, I heard a dozen kerplunks - there went all the turtles... except one. Can you find him? Half-way horizontally, on the lowest cross tree, the lighter colored one. Yep.
IMGP1603.JPG
I found several huge beaver dams. Did a beaver do this?? That would be one large beaver! This was maybe 3 inches in diameter...
IMGP1604.JPG
This sure looked like a beaver dam, so I asked the rangers and was told "yep".
IMGP1605.JPG
I don't think I've ever seen leaves grow straight out of a tree trunk before...
IMGP1609.JPG
so I tried to get a good shot. Does anyone know what this tree is?
IMGP1610.JPG
OK, so I overdid the photos, but it really was purty. In this one, I liked the angle formed by the two trees and their shadows (at the top left).
IMGP1611.JPG
I like all the crossing lines on this one...
IMGP1612.JPG
... but this shows the doubled-rock best.
IMGP1613.JPG
See how cool? I stayed a long time and took a lot more pics - but just kept the best. Still too many, I know, but I'm not good at pruning yet :)
IMGP1614.JPG
This is the campsite I wish I'd taken - on the other side of the lake. But it is far from the bathhouse...
