Walnut Meadow Camp Ground at Berea, KY

The view out my backdoor (or is it a back window?) at the Walnut Meadow Campground in Berea, KY. The last night I was there it rained - a literal gully washer, which made this stream almost clear.

I knew I was in a good place when I found this little chicory plant at my campsite. They were surprisingly hard to get a good photo of, on my first evening - and then they disappear before I could try again. This is the best of the attempts (with some enhancements made in iPhoto :)

At the entrance to the campground were two of the biggest hibiscus plants I've ever seen. Both Mom and Aileen have red ones that I've always enjoyed - but this one was really pink.

Close up of said hibiscus. I think the yellow of the Shell station really sets it off. No, not really, but when I tried to crop is out, I lost too much of the plant, so...

Ditto.

And this one was purple - really!

This is probably the best flower close-up so far in my short career as a photographer.
