Avon Beach on the Outer Banks of North Carolina




The seas were rough after a night of high winds...


... so I got a great shot of the roll-over in the waves.


It was high tide (the sand here is dune, not beach) so I decided not to drive rather than walk up to the pier you see here.


These folks are going to have to move these stairs, it seems.

I found some good walking North from the pier. I like this photo for the evenly spread foam on the shallow water.

The wind had scrubbed the sand and the sun was bright, making for great shadows.
