Week 21: PA with Beth; Cape May, NJ; dead alternator

  • The drive from New York to Pennsylvania was great. Sunny and bright with lots of yellow and red leaves, and a second trip through the Delaware Water Gap... and then: snow!
  • Visit with niece Beth in State College, PA
  • New Jersey:
    • I stayed at an Outdoor World Campground in Ocean View, NJ for three days. They were closing down for the winter, so it was a bit dreary, but adequate. The first day I spent the morning washing clothes ... and then the rain came, so the afternoon was spent in my camper, reading.
The next day was election day. It still gray, but not raining, and I just had to get out and walk while the country voted... so I drove south toward Cape May. I got the usual beach walking photos, a set of close-up photos, unusual shots of weird, industrial stuff that is in the water all along the beach, and finally, shots of the classical light house.

The third day was rain rain rain, so I spent most of that day at the library in Ocean View - a very nice place.
    • Thursday I was supposed to drive to Philly to dance... but I noticed my alternator light was on, so looked up a VW place on my GPS and headed for it... and about 5 miles from there, she gave up the ghost. I got to the side of the road, called for a tow, and ended up spending the next four days at a funky "do-wop" motel at Wildwood Beach. I have lots of photos of that... but will consider that the start of Week 22 since it included the weekend.
