Monday in New York City

The Metropolitian Museum of Art, on Monday, is only open to volunteers and their friends. Lucky me!

Peg and Peggy outside the Museum.

The sky above the museum, oddly conforming to the street grid.

A roof garden!

As we walked to Central Park, Peg told me about some buildings... but I've forgotten what she said. I liked the top floor detail on this one...

... and all the cut-aways for balconies here.

As we left the Park, we passed the folks playing music and leaving flowers for John Lennon. This street vendor offers photos of the sidewalk mural, etc.

This is (I'm pretty sure) the building where Lennon lived.

And this is a detail from the side of that building.

This part of New York reminded me of Boston.

We stopped here for tea and scones. The place was nicely done, aiming for little (and big) girls who like tea parties.

I had hot chocolate and the Almond Joy scone. Yum.

It was dark by the time we walked by the Metropolian Opera House...

... but it was cool to see the giant Chagall paintings...

... and this incredible mirrored sculputure.
