A great visit to MIT

It was great to visit with these four NCSSM alum, now at MIT.

We met at this new building, called Stata (I think).

Rae told me that folks who work in these offices do not like the tilting walls.

I don't know who gets to live here, but I want to.

This is the side of that Alice-in-Wonderland building.

This is a nice amphitheater.

This was above the kids' technology room.

I think of this as the main entrance.

It's on Massachusetts Ave, near the intersection with Memorial Drive, and near the Student Union.

The Student Union has changed little in 30 years.

This is the view from the Union towards the married student dorms. Carl and I lived in the one on the right, 7th floor.

This is Westgate, where Carl and I lived.

This soccer complex is new -- as is the blocky building.

It looks like a model from here.

It's a dorm built in 2004.

The colors are meaningful - some sort of organization of the residents.

I like the way the pattern of white lines toward the upper left.

This is the view from Westgate back towards Mass Ave.

I was glad to see that the Heinz building, which I walked past several times a week, was still intact.

This is the Cambridge side of the Charles River, taken from the BU bridge.

And down the middle.

And the Boston side, including the famous Citgo sign, near which Beth lived recently.

Walking along Memorial Drive I came across the following sidewalk sign:

... or to be finite?

I always liked the boats on the Charles.

This is the Boston University boat house;

this is MIT's;

and this is.... I'm not sure, but I like the way it came out.
