Karen let me share her room for the night. What a treat!

After our futile but interesting attempt to find my package in Portland, we drove to The Head Light, a classic Maine lighthouse.
Karen looking cool in her shades.
Now *this* is more like I expected the Maine coast to be. See the BIG BIG boats in the background?
Yeah, black rocks and a blue sea.
We took this photo thinking of Joellen, our own personal poet. Karen took a photo of me in with the sign that I'll add later :-)
Karen got a recommendation from a local Mainer to eat lunch at this place in South Portland. What a perfect name for Joe's daughter and Uncle Joe's niece!
And here are the cousins after we ate a good meal on the side deck.
As we were driving around, we saw this sign and decided that Claude and Claudia would want us to stop for a photo!
And here's the full sign, in case that means more :-)
After breakfast on Sunday, we drove out into the country to try to find a farm where a friend of mine used to come as a child. This might be it...
This is the bridge to Cousins Island, which we decided to visit after we saw it on my GPS.
Dead trees alway tempt me to try for an artsy shot.
Karen on the beach.
See the partial foliage? It turns out that Maine is called The Pinetree State for a good reason...
I forgot to un-do the zoom... but actually, it turned out to be an interesting shot!
Here's the cousins on Cousin Island. Note that Karen is holding purple shells to take to 2.5 year old Jamie.
See the bird on the tallest rock? I'm guessing that most of this is underwater at high tide.
I walked out to the end of the sandbar. Pretty interesting, the way the water interacted there at the tip.
There were some large, pretty houses on the mainland.
I took this just to show off my camera for Karen.
Who knows what this is? Karen wanted it to be cotton, but I knew that was wrong!
Burgandy? Crimson? I'm not so good at names of colors, but this one seemed a little unusual for a beach color...
My Birks have done amazingly well, given how often I've gotten them wet.
