This is the bridge from New Hampshire to Maine called (I think) the Pawtuckaway Bridge. When I climbed
Mt. Pawtuckaway, I could see this bridge from the fire tower at its top.

Week 16: Time in Maine |
Note:
Starting this week, I'm going to redefine week to have the weekend at the beginning, so that I can
tell you about dances (which most often happen on weekends) at the top of the page for that week.

One reason for spending this particular time in Maine is to see the trees in their glorious foliage, so
here are photos to show that it was worth it, yeah boy.
- Friday I got to the campground and got set up. Nice place, pretty deserted, good indoor rec center with high speed
web access - and good cell phone reception too. Yeah!
- Saturday I wanted to dance in West Falmouth, so left midday to drive North and stopped at two beaches:
- Kennebunkport which was cold and windy, and
- Old Orchard Beach near sunset and I got some really pretty photos
- The dance was a nice, small, friendly group. I recognized five or six folks from dancing elsewhere in
New England, so that was kind of interesting.
- Sunday and Monday were recovery days: clothes washing, grocery shopping, a little jigsaw puzzling
since it was too rainy for the beach, some book reading just because I felt like it...
- So by Tuesday I was ready for more beach time. I drove to the nearby Footbridge Beach.
This is a lovely place, with a long Footbridge across some marshy land to the good beach.
My new plan is to put close up photos on a different page, to make
it easier for me to upload. This set has shells and feathers and a flower&bee.
- On Wednesday I wanted to see some more colorful trees so I went online and found picked
Mt. Pawtuckaway because I liked the name and it was only an hour away.
It cost $4, but was well worth it. I picked the trail to the fire tower, a six mile round trip, but got lost
and probably walked more like 7.5 miles. Here are the close up shots,
including one of the S-things that Mom doesn't like to call by name :-)
- Thursday I drove into Ogunquit and parked at the jetty, then walked into the small town and
had a snack and did a little shopping. Then I walked the beach for about 3 hours. There were just a
few photos worth sharing.
