This week contains the best in some of the important categories in my life: time on the beaches of Cape Cod,
time with long-lasting friends, a dance in Concord with Elixir and then, the weekend:
Swallowtail 30th Anniversary Party.
|
| First: Cape Cod. This was wonderful time and I took lots of photos. |
| Second: time with friends. I had short but sweet visits with Kate and Morrie (including a great meal out, where I got the spinach salad I was craving) and with Dave and Chris (where Dave cooked up a very good Chicken Parmesan - making the dish I used to make and call by that name seem downright chintzy). |
| Third: Dancing at Concord's Scout House to Elixir. Wow. This was a high energy, happy dance. For those of you who dance, you'll understand when I say that the floor "planed", or "floated", or reached that altered state of reality that keeps us coming back for more. |

Last but definitely not least: Swallowtail's 30th Anniversary Dance Party. In addition to
Swallowtail, we got to dance to
Wild Asparagus (but I didn't get any photos of them - meaning, I guess, that I danced every dance when they were playing :-) and
Eilxir, the hot new jazzy band containing
Owen Morrison from Asheville, the Hazzard-Watkins brothers, Nils Fredland and Anna Patton. This was my best dance weekend yet.
I did work-ship (making buttons, helping with registration, etc), which was fun and gave me a chance to meet more people. Plus, I was happy to see folks from TCD there: David and Lori, Nancy, and Reuven and Susan (now of Philly). Pretty cool to dance with old friends in new places. And of course there were lots of faces there that I knew from being in New England for the last several weeks - and also those never-met-you-before-but-you-sure-are-fun-to-dance-with people! |
