This jetty is the end of the canal, so I walked over and climbed it to see the boats go by. |

This is a power plant on the canal. It uses the water for cooling, but does not, unfortunately, use the strong flow of the water, which changes direction as the tides change. |
See the personal helicopter? The name of the boat was Star Ship. Someone is certainly enterprising... |
After I'd walked away from the jetty for awhile, I looked back and saw the top of this HUGE ship that was passing through the canal. Now that would've been a sight to behold. |

I think these are called "pippens", the ones that run so fast and have such strikingly clean black and white markings. |
They were more wary than the big birds though... |
