Catalina State Park near Tucson, AZ

The Tucson dance community was very nice, with some good strong dancers and a great venue. I stayed in the backyard offered to me by Dale and Lorien, who help run the dances, and they also hosted Ken and Judy from Oregon! We had rain - which I appreciated, since the dust was pretty bothersome. I got up and took off early the next day, treating myself to breakfast at an iHop, then grocery shopping at a Trader Joe's, then heading on out to the Catalina State Park in the Coronado National Forest. This was one of the nicest camp grounds I've stayed in so far, public or private. The sites were large and the bath house was warm and well designed. I liked the shower stalls: large, with two parts (one wet, one dry), all tile, with lots of horizontal spots as well as hanging hooks.

A first: someone in a Eurovan camper, a little newer than mine. We swapped tales and tips. He isn't full-timing, so we had a few different issues, but it was fun to compare notes. He encouraged me to try the propane heater - but when he saw how little my electric one is, he said he was going to stop by a Target and pick one up for himself!

The weather continued to be rainy and cold, but I got in a good long hike along a ridge, and at the end of the day, the rain stopped and the sun came out - perfect timing for a full double rainbow. Wow.
