Camp Washington Ranch near Carlsbad, NM

This not-for-profit runs several group homes for developmentally challenged adults, as well as this conference center.

Buildings were mostly made of stone.

I had all of this to myself, except for groundskeepers who worked during the day on off-season projects. As the guy in charge said: "This is way better than an RV park!"

The national parks people gave old signs to this group...

... who made them into table!

They had an extensive high and low ropes course.

A "W" made of horseshoes, for Camp Washington, I assume.

A closeup of that "W".

This two mile path along a ravine made for a good evening walk.

I hadn't seen this kind of cactus before.

I reminded me somehow of a pineapple.

Is that black dirt? Pollen?

There was a small flock of deer, but they were pretty shy. Note the "mountains" in the background.

There were lots of big big turkeys.

See the little moon?

Good sky.

Great sunsets.

This little cemetary was near the entrance to the camp.

The plots were very small. Pets, maybe?
