This is the building I think of when I "remember the Alamo", but it's really the church on the grounds of the much larger fort.

This is a wall of the fort. I wonder if they had the bars back then or if that's a modern add-on.

I got there too late to go inside the fort, but took this photo between the bars. Yes, this is a live oak. A huge, old tree to which some supports have been added.
