Mt. Rainer, Washington State, May 2009

The view from partway up Mt. Rainer was impressive.

This made me think of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I wanted a shot of my camper against the mountains, but this was the best I could do.

I was so excited to see this snow bridge, sure it would dissolve before I could get the picture. But folks told me it had been there for days.

This one was even more dramatic.

Fast water flowing from under the snow seems improbable.

I loved the long sweep. Do you see the bridge? The rest of the photos are taken from there.

This is the downhill view.

There wasn't much green, but here's a typical cliff in the river gorge, uphill from the brige.

So many foot prints. People? There were some cross country skiiers out and about.

This one reminds me of how cold it was.

I like the black stones and snow so much that I am keeping two of these, similar though they be.
