You can see the roads were clear but wet.

The cone shaped hill is the result of a second eruption, hence the classic volcano shape.

This warning was appropriate; there were so many places that just one more step toward the center would have sent me hurtling 1000 feet down into the water.

Wild white roses? They were barely hanging on in the cold and the wind.

This was the best I could do gettig a photo of the wooden poles they used here to mark the edges of the roads for the snow plow. Most places use plastic.
