At the top of Behnam Falls

After I walked along the rapids for a couple of miles, I came around a bend to find this...

... a gorge of sorts at the bottom of the falls.

Look at the water swirling on the rocks on the right bank.

There's some serious power here.

There were no venues that showed the falls themselves...

... but I loved the roar and the rush.

This word "slough" was used alot in Oregon :-)

I appreciated this map, and the outhouse nearby :-)

The trail along the river was pretty flat and even, so I could walk fast. Notice the piled dark rocks on the far side? Volcanic, I assume.

Wonder what got this guy. Lightning? Bugs? Old age?

There were lots of these trees with the fan shaped branches.

Root balls are always fun to come across.
